Arriving at Cenova means the finding of the HotelPiù Negro, opened in 1988 by Luigi Negro, using his knowledge, trained at the hotel-management school, and his experience matured in Swiss, Germany, Belgium, and on holiday cruisers and managing the prestigious Hotel Des Anglais in Sanremo.
Today Mr Negro his helped by all his family, his wife Margaret, who is a clever cook, his son Pier Paolo, his daughters Cristina and e Marina. The Negro, placed in an old and typical stone house, seems at once rich of charm and atmosphere: the 12 rooms are furnished with taste, equipped with bathrooms and television. At the restaurant named I Cavallini you can taste the typical dishes of the region, prepared only with the products of every seasons.
The list of food is inviting just when you read it: white bread as a starter, and then the black one, home-made with the fresh dough, kneaded every day by Margaret; delicious are the ravioli coiled up with a thin pasta and the Turkish breast stuffed with vegetables and local herbs, the salad of dried salted cod or of stockfish and the famous buridda, maybe the most famous fish recipe of the whole Liguria.
Among the dessert worth mentioning are the fritters of sambuca with strawberry sauce and those who prefer recipes more traditional there are different kinds of home made cakes. Excellent also wines.
